A well-designed landscape keeps visual interest alive through all seasons, not just spring and summer.
Key Points:
- Vertical Layering: Use the canopy, understory, and ground layers to add depth and richness to your garden. Combine tall trees, medium-sized shrubs, and low-growing groundcovers.
- Evergreens as Anchors: Integrate evergreen plants like Yaupon Holly or Mountain Laurel to maintain structure and greenery in winter.
- Seasonal Accents: Add perennials and bulbs with varying bloom times for continuous color. Examples include: - Purple Coneflower (summer bloom)
- Turk’s Cap (attracts hummingbirds into fall)
- Daffodils (early spring color)

- Mixing Textures & Foliage Colors: Contrasting leaf shapes, sizes, and shades (like silvery Artemisia next to deep green Boxwood) creates visual excitement.
